The annual Students Involved with Technology (SIT) Conference is being held Feb. 20 at a local middle school.
SIT is a student-led conference presented by Higher Education and K-12 School Districts to provide a forum where kids in grades 3-12 can demonstrate technology tools they have learned in school or that they are interested in. Typical topics at the SIT Conference include animation, coding, Lego robotics and much more. Students who wish to present will need a sponsor to make sure the student is well-informed on the topic. Participants will also be charged a $25 registration fee.
The event will be held at Heritage Middle School, 6850 31st St., and will run from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Students do not need to attend a District 100 school to participate in the event. Registration deadline ends on Jan. 22 and no on-site registration will be accepted. Those who need financial assistance with the registration fee can fill out a scholarship request form.
