Get your kicks on Route 66 this Saturday as the 25th Annual Berwyn Route 66 Car Show drives into town. Over 550 vintage and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles will be on display on the Historic Route 66 in Berwyn (now called Ogden Avenue).
The 25th Annual Berwyn Route 66 Car Show presented by WeatherTech and sponsored by Paisans Pizzeria & Bar takes place Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free for spectators and open to the public. All ages are welcome. There will be Route 66 memorabilia, great food, live music, and hundreds of beautiful cars. To get a sneak peek of the vintage and custom cars, spectators are welcome to watch the vehicles parade into the grounds at 7 a.m.
Roamin’ Chariots Car Club will be back once again to demonstrate automobile flame throwing. This show will take place at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. at Ogden & Wesley.
The car show also features nitro-fueled funny cars and dragsters, and special guests including legendary WLS DJ & Radio Hall of Famer Dick Biondi, NBC’s meteorologist Andy Avalos, the Military Color Guard, “Frank Sinatra” and “Elvis Presley”.
Pre-registration is now closed. To display your vehicle at the event, on-site registration begins Saturday morning at 7 a.m. and closes at 10 a.m. The cost is $40. Judging begins at 10 a.m. Event organizers will be giving out “fun” awards in categories such as “Bad to the Bone,” “Hog Heaven,” “Impressive Import,” “Hot Hauler,” “Pleasantly Preserved” and “Slo & Lo.”
This event is brought to you by the Berwyn Preservation of Historic Route 66 Commission of the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC). All classic car fans are welcome to the show and can rediscover the great automotive heritage of Berwyn’s Historic Route 66.
The Car Show is located on the pavement of Historic Route 66. It is now called Ogden Avenue between Oak Park Ave and Ridgeland Ave. See Map.
Parking is available on side streets and at the Berwyn Municipal Parking Garage at 3300 So.Grove St. The garage is a short 3 block walk to the show site. See Map
