Hello, beautiful Berwyn! Every Friday we promise to provide a fun and entertaining look at the weekend’s events. With this being the first article of many to come for AroundBerwyn.com, let’s start off with a very brief history lesson about what makes this municipality unique.
Berwyn is not just a town or village but was officially recognized as a city in 1908. It is known for having the most significant collection of Chicago-style bungalow homes in the entire country, most of which were built between the 1920’s-40’s. Whereas the city was first made up of citizens that were predominantly middle-class and relatively conservative in their political outlook, there are now over 56,000 Berwynites from all sorts of diverse backgrounds and professions.
With so much to do in so little time in the melting pot of Berwyn, we have provided a list of a few interesting things to scope out this weekend in case you’re looking for inspiration.
